Born in 1968 Daniel trained at The University of Cape Town Ballet school. He completed a Bsc in applied mathematics before joining the former CAPAB Ballet Company in 1990. In 1997 he left to join PACT Ballet in Pretoria for two years before returning to Cape Town City Ballet where he is currently a principal.
Roles include Siegfried in Swan Lake, Basilio in Don Quixote, Albrecht in Giselle, James in La Sylphide, Romeo in Romeo & Juliet, Crassus in Spartacus, Armand in Camille. He has also performed in a variety of other dance styles ranging from Neo classical through to Contemporary and Jazz. He has appeared as guest artist both nationally and internationally over the last five years.
Daniel received a Vita award in 1999 and is a three times recipient of the Balletomanes best male dancer award. He has performed as a guest artist nationally as well as in Zimbabwe, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
