Kotie Potgieter – Pageant Director

After receiving the crown in 2009 a business opportunity arose and I took over the business. Then I identified a need for a specific kind of pageant that doesn’t focus on the physical beauty of women but on their empowerment as well as to establish the platform to get involved in charity and fundraising projects within the community. Once the finalist embarks on this journey she will be empowered by our monthly workshops to experience personal and spiritual growth.

I strongly believe each individual is blessed with an abundance of gifts and talents and we are created with a special and unique purpose and that we a have a responsibility to know what it is and to use it to bring glory to the Lord.

At the end of the day she must know her self-worth and purpose and be able to maintain a balance in life and to be consistent in everything she does.

The Mrs Modern Woman Pageant

The Mrs Modern Woman pageant is a national pageant event. The competition is for married ladies with Christian values between the ages of 25 and 50 that act as a role model with a passion to encourage other women to reach their God given potential and also knows the importance of maintaining a balance in life.

Our vision is to add value towards the personal growth of women and empower South African women on all levels of society, to act as leaders and to establish the platform to get involved in charity and fund raising events within their communities.

There is a great need for empowered woman to make a difference in various levels of society. “Mrs Modern Woman” strives to indentify and equip woman to play a pro-active role in fulfilling the dreams of those in need.

Part of the strategy is to build the confidence of the participants, by encouraging them to believe in themselves and their ability to make a difference. We also understand that recognition builds pride and confidence in the participants.

The winner of the prestigious title of “Mrs Modern Woman 2013” will be announced during a glamorous Gala-Evening , November 2013 in Gauteng. Funds raised by the finalists will be donated to a charity organization of choice during the Gala-Evening.

Mrs Modern Woman 2012 – Current Winner – Elize Ferero

Elize Ferero, Pretoria resident, and a wife, mother, business woman and “most importantly servant of my Father God” , was crowned as the new Mrs Modern Woman for 2012 at Stone Cradle on 1 November 2012.

“My life and success is not by my own doing, but everything I do and am, is defined by God’s guidance through His Spirit,” says Elize, who has won almost R100 000 worth of prizes. “It is not about my agenda; it is about His agenda. Once I started to trust His agenda and guidance, the more my life started to fall into place.”

Boitumelo Langa was crowned second princess and Freda Geyser first princess.

The Mrs Style Award went to Jansie Koekemoer, while Annette Eilerd was awarded the prize for Mrs Photogenic and Leanne Dickson-Colegate was crowned as Mrs Congeniality.

Giving back
Kotie Potgieter, pageant Director of the Mrs Modern Woman pageant, and her team chose “Be the Hero Foundation” as their charity for 2012. The contestants rose more than R78 000 for this particular organization.

The “Be the Hero Foundation” engages with Pathways Pretoria, a school catering for children with double disabilities, as well as with Club 21, a school for young people with Down’s syndrome. Recently, Kotie has been appointed as “Be the Hero Foundation’s” Ambassador.
