Merritt in British Columbia, Canada, may be a small town, but is definitely not a sleepy town.
There are many activities for children and adults and one of them is dancing.
The Love to Dance Academy is on the second floor of the Olde Court House Arts Centre in Nicola Avenue, Merritt, British Columbia in Canada.
The studio is well equipped with a sprung floor, mirrors and barres, dressing rooms, office and storage space for costumes and props and of course a sound system.
The teacher, Lizette Nel is a qualified RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) ballet teacher. She is also a Dancing Divas and Golden Girls dance exercise instructor. Dance exercises for adult ladies in the age group of 18 to 80 years of age. The exercises are based on Ballroom, Latin American and African dance styles.
Lizette loves children and it became evident as she taught the little girls of four and five years about spatial awareness and how ballet girls should move. Also how to do artwork, making ballet pictures, not with crayons, but with their bodies.
Ballet is a performing art and all girls benefit by attending ballet classes. Not only do they learn how to move gracefully and with poise, they also develop strong, but supple muscles, as well as an appreciation of music and other visual arts, self discipline, co-ordination, and many other courtesies
