Teachers of our syllabus pass a series of qualifying exams. Teachers and members of DanceCor are listed on our website:
DanceCor has four sets of exam syllabi/assessments:
* Dance (modern dance - incorporating jazz, contemporary and afrofusion)
* Hip Hop
* Musical Theatre
DanceCor has medal tests for Dance, Tap, Funk Jazz and Song and Dance – this is performance based.
The DanceCor syllabus is now being taught nationally throughout South Africa and internationally in Nairobi and the United Kingdom.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
a) To engage in the fostering and promoting of dance training.
b) To establish a training school for dance and a theatre for performances.
c) To develop and foster an outreach programme relating to dance throughout the Republic.
d) To develop dance talent through promoting and conducting dance competitions, shows and championships.
e) To design, foster and promote programmes designed to educate through the medium of dance.
f) To establish standards of dance teaching and to apply such standards in the examination of dancers and dance teachers.
g) To establish and award bursaries for prospective dance talents to enable the development thereof both locally and abroad.
h) To raise awareness of dance in the community at large through advertising, exhibitions and competitions.
i) To protect the interests of dance teachers and protect and foster the good name of the dance teachers’ profession.
j) To convene seminars and conferences for dance teachers.
